Top 3 marketing trends for 2016

Before the end-of-the-year lists blitz, here is a quick pick from the Script Consultants Team on the Marketing Trends you should watch for in 2016:

  1. Video marketing: In our previous blog, we had talked about video marketing increasingly becoming the centerpiece of marketing strategies for savvy corporations. Creating engaging videos is the easiest way of reaching out to the millenials. In June 2015, Facebook revealed that its users watch 4 billion video streams every day.

With shorter attention spans, creating engaging videos that are subtle in their branding messages will become more critical for companies in 2016. Some of our favourite brands already leading the way with their campaigns are:

  1. Social search: It has been no secret to any online user that the time spent by all of us on social media has steadily been rising. As per the latest report by Globalwebindex, as a share of the time we spend online, these engagement figures mean that social networking now accounts for almost 30% of our daily internet activities, with micro-blogging approaching the 15% mark.

In 2016, the trend will be pronounced further. Social search engines like Smashfuse, Topsy and Google Social Searcher will be increasingly used by business owners to gauge the mood and to plan their media campaings.

  1. App indexing: Everyone is now building and using apps. There is an app for almost everything under the planet – from weather predictions to financial risk assessment. As the universe expands, search engines will want to cover this bling spot.

Google has already taken a step in the direction by creating app indexed search. What it means is if you perform a Google search on a mobile device, the search results will include not just web pages, but also relevant content that is within an app says Searchengineland.

Beginning 2016, it will become critical for app developers to make their app content and links searchable. “You can enable Google to crawl through your app content and present your Android app as a destination to users through Google Search results, when that content corresponds to a web page that you own,” advises the Android Developer page.

So, have you devised your marketing plans to grab that elusive customer attention in 2016?
